U16's at the Manchester Festival

Our 2009 & younger team played at the Summer Tournament at Manchester Aquatics Centre on Saturday 5th September.  Match report below kindly written by Sarah Gregory.. 

We only actually had 1 x 2009 player (Aston), 3 x 2010s & the rest 2011s. With only two quarters of 6 mins, time was of the essence from the off.

The first match was against London Penguin, which we narrowly lost by one goal (a penalty) & despute this, we held our own very well. 

Next up was Cheltenham, where we turned the tables & won by one goal & a great victory, giving the team some spirit.

St Ambrose came next, with some big shooters (being a feeder club for City of Manchester) which made us work hard. The final score reflecting the pressure at 7-2. 

Not to be outdone, we bounced back in the final match, taking the victory over "Caledonia A" by one goal in the last minute, to cheers of the supporters!! 

This led us to the 5th/6th place play off, where we defeated Northampton, again by one goal in the last minure, to take 5th place overall 🤽‍♂️

Considering the age & depth of the other teams, this was a great result & showed we can play some great polo.
